The Rockbridge Area Relief Association would like to thank all of those who made the 50th anniversary celebration on April 29 a success.
“We were thrilled to see so many people come out to celebrate this important milestone with us, including the families of founders, former and long-term volunteers, and new supporters,” said Lindsey Perez, executive director.
“I would especially like to thank the volunteers, event committee and board members, staff, and sponsors who made this event such a success,” she continued. “In particular, Ladles & Linens, Pronto, Sassaia, and Devils Backbone contributed the delicious food and drinks, and Dominion Energy, Dupont Community Credit Union, Spencer Home Center, Central Virginia Rental, and Cornerstone Bank provided significant sponsorships.”
What started as an effort by a group of women to address a gap in the social safety net has grown over the last 50 years into a permanent fixture of Rockbridge County.
“With the amazing dedication of our neighbors, we will continue operating our Neighborhood Grocery, utilities assistance, and housing support programs for many years to come,” Perez said.
