The Rockbridge County High School boys tennis team concluded the regular season with a 9-0 road loss to Valley District rival Spotswood on Friday.

With the victory, the Trailblazers (12-4) completed a sweep of the regular-season series with the Wildcats (3-11, 2-6) and finished 8-0 in the district. Spotswood also beat the Wildcats 9-0 on April 18 in Lexington.

The closest match on Friday was at No. 2 singles, with RC sophomore challenging Spotswood’s Nathan Lees before falling 9-8 (7-1 tiebreak).

RC senior Matthew Feldman was scheduled to compete in the Valley District singles tournament yesterday at Turner Ashby. In the district doubles tournament on Thursday, also at TA, Faulds will team up with senior Ben Barney and will face the top team from Broadway.

“I’m very excited for districts this week,” said RC head coach Rebekah Butler.
