It was a beautiful day for crafts, baked goods, food and fun at the farmers market. They ended up with two food vendors and 11 other vendors. Three scheduled vendors had to back out at the last minute. It is hoped they will be able to attend another time. A special thanks for all who participated and all those who came and supported the event. It was noticed that most folks didn’t realize parking for the event was available on the lot between the market building and the highway. For large events, the market lot is blocked off for thru traffic for safety reasons. Guess they need those “EVENT PARKING HERE” signs next time. The regular season begins this weekend, Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking is available on the lot during regular market days.
Nine members of The Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department attended the annual Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester last week, taking several vehicles with them, and participating in the firefighters parade. They brought home the first place trophy for (their vehicle) Rescue 2, in the Heavy Rescue division. Congratulations for a fine showing, representing Glasgow in this event.
The speaker this past week at Glasgow Baptist Church was Michael Shepherd. This coming week Ken Schwalje returns as guest speaker.
