ELLA BOONE

Honoring the life of Ella D. Boone, née Ella Ione Davis. Ella Boone passed away at the age of 94 on May 3, 2023.

She was born in Prunty, W.Va., Oct. 14 1928. She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, French Boone Jr.; her brother, Bradley F. Davis (in 2011); and her parents, Lutrell William Davis (in 1993) and Delta Nile Davis (in 1981).

She survived by her daughter, Stephanie D. Boone of Lebanon, N.H., and her sons, Matthew D. Joanis of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., and Luke S. Joanis of West Hartford, Vt., as well as their spouses, Carolyn Dale and Anna Fleischman, respectively.

She is also survived by her son, Bradley G. Boone, and his wife, Sandra Dixon Boone of Columbia, Md., and her grandchildren April E. Boone and Jonathan C. Boone of Columbia, Md. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Doris B. Davis, of Prunty, W.Va., and her daughters, Nenna Davis of Prunty, W.Va., and Lisa Heller of St. Mary’s, W.Va.

Additionally, she is survived by her great-granddaughters, Matthew Hunter and Skylar Joanis, children of Matthew and Carolyn, and Rosalyn Joanis, child of Luke and Anna. Carolen.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, May 10, at Harrison Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, May 11, at Harrison’s followed by a graveside service at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
