Sidney Avery Chocklett, 79, of Lexington died May 11

Sidney Avery Chocklett, 79, of Lexington died Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born May 19, 1943, in Lexington, he was a son of the late Avery Yeatis Chocklett and Beck Hickman Chocklett.

Sidney received his doctorate from Georgetown University and was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church. Mr. Chocklett retired as a communications specialist with the U.S. Pentagon and served under four presidents.

Surviving are his brother, George O. Chocklett; and several cousins.

At Sid's request there will be no service.
