CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE

A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a proposal to amend Article V of the Zoning Ordinance to allow a Planned Development – Mixed Used zoning district in the opportunity areas located along the E. Nelson Street and S. Main Street commercial corridors. A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2022-01, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given that the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings at its meeting on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Board Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA, 24450, to consider adoption of the following: Ordinance to Amend and Reenact Section 14-12 – Permit Required; Exceptions and Section 14-21 – Authorization to Provide Nonemergency Services; Response to Emergencies Permitted Under Limited Conditions, of Article II – Fee for Services, of Chapter 14 – Fire, Rescue, EMS and Emergency Management, of the Rockbridge County Code, to Change Designated Authority from County to Fire-Rescue Chief to Request Service from a Private Ambulance or Emergency Medical Services Vehicle; and to Amend Conditions Under Which a Permit Holder is Permitted to Respond to Emergencies, Respectively All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing to express their views on the proposed ordinance. While the Board meeting will be open to the public, citizens will have several options for remotely participating in the public hearing by following the instructions on the meeting agenda to be posted on Board-Docs at: https://go.boarddocs. com/va/rcva/Board.nsf/Public. Citizens may also submit comment in writingby U.S. Mail to Board of Supervisors, Citizen Comment, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA; by email to citizencomment@rockbridgecountyva. gov; or by placing in the dropbox located at the entrances to the County Administrative Office Building.
