The Farmers Market was down in size for the first full weekend with only four vendors on Friday, yet there were plenty of crafts, baked goods, produce, eggs and frozen chicken available. There were three vendors on Saturday with crafts, various plants and a lemonade stand. Some vendors have committed to every weekend, while others only once or twice a month. If they only were able to all come all the time this could be quite a busy market with a wide variety of products.

The Town Council met last week and some personnel changes were announced. One Council seat was obviously vacant, that of Andrea “Andi” Bradley, who has served on Council for a number of years and would have been up for reelection this fall. Bradley stepped down because she has been hired as the new administrative assistant, replacing Jane Higginbothem who is retiring. In other business, the Council voted to hire Tomas Smals to assume the duties of town manager.

Citizens of Glasgow should have received a survey in their water bill from the Town Planning Commission. Please complete and return with your water payment, or drop it off at Town Hall.

Looking ahead, the first Rockin’ The Gorge music event in town will take place on June 3, with Little Marvin and the Martians.
