Wednesday, May 17 – The Parry McCluer High School girls tennis team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, falling to Bath County 5-4 in the Pioneer District championship match at the Southern Virginia University courts in Buena Vista. The Fighting Blues (12-1) are the top seed in the Region 1C tournament and are scheduled to play host to Giles in the quarterfinals at the SVU courts on Monday at 11 a.m. On Friday, PM junior Addisen Roberts will compete in the Pioneer District singles tournament, and Roberts and senior teammate Sadie Mays will play in the doubles tournament, with action starting at 10 a.m. at SVU.
