Monday, May 22 -- The fifth-seeded Rockbridge County High School boys lacrosse team defeated fourth-seeded Jefferson Forest 9-3 in the Region 4D quarterfinals in Forest.
Andrew Kelly and Quincy Speers scored three goals apiece to lead the Wildcats (9-6) to the victory. Jack Jensen made 13 saves in goal as RC avenged an 8-7 home loss against the Cavaliers (7-8) in the regular-season meeting.
Alex Nye chipped in two goals and River Hull notched one marker for the 'Cats, who led 5-0 at halftime.
RC will travel to top seed Cave Spring in the regional semifinals on Wednesday.
