The city of Lexington is currently in search of a new city arborist after Celia Rainey tendered her resignation from the position earlier this month.
City Manager Jim Halasz declined to comment on any reasons Rainey gave for her resignation, citing it as a personnel matter.
He told The News-Gazette on Monday that the city was beginning the process of searching for a new arborist, with “emphasis on getting someone right away” given the season, and were considering possibly contracting an arborist to serve in that role in the interim.
