Notice is hereby given that the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at its meeting on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Board Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA, 24450, to consider adoption of the following: Ordinance Authorizing and Approving Execution of Land Lease Agreement With Tony L. Bryant to Lease County-Owned Property Acquired in Connection With the South River Flood Mitigation Project, Being 0.458 Acres Identified as Tax Map #64-A-28, Lying on the Southeast Side of State Road #608, a Short Distance North of Cornwall in the South River Magisterial District of Rockbridge County All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing to express their views on the proposed ordinance. City of Lexington Notice of Public Hearing Amendment of Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. during its regular meeting, held in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, to solicit input on Ordinance 2023-04 amending the FY 2023 budget from $48,517,292 to $49,130,277. The largest appropriation proposed in this request is $431,413 from fund balance to purchase the land for the new Health and Human Services Center, the cost of which will be shared with Rockbridge County and Buena Vista. Copies of the Ordinances may be obtained from the City Manager’s Office in City Hall at 300 E. Washington Street.

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 802.03, 04 and 05 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Planning Commission on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450, followed by public hearings by the Board of Supervisors on Monday,June 26, 2023, at or after 6:00 p.m. at the same location to consider the following applications: 1) Samuel F.and Beth B. Rowe, 301 Sugar Loaf Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401, have made an application for a zoning map amendment to conditionally rezone two parcels of land from the General Residential (R-1) Zoning District to the General Business (B-1) Zoning District. The properties under consideration are identified as 8 Hays Creek Road, Brownsburg,Virginia 24415 and are located on the southwest side of the intersection of Brownsburg Turnpike and Hays Creek Road (Route 724). The properties, identified 679 Long Hollow Road, Buena Vista, Virginia 24416, are located on the westside of the intersection of Long Hollow Road(Route 631),approximately 0.18 miles north of the intersection of Long Hollow Road and Middle Road (Route 704). The properties are further identified as tax map number 77A1-16A (0.727 acres), 77-13-1D, and 77-13-X1 (1D and X1 are 1.24 total acres – per tax records). The properties are located in the South River Magisterial District.

City of Lexington Public Notice Ordinance 2023-06

Notice is hereby given that the Lexington City Council, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. during its regular meeting, held in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington,will consider Ordinance 2023-06. This Ordinance will approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the Rockbridge Regional Human Services Center Agreement. The proposed Agreement establishes the relationship among the City of Lexington, City of Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County concerning the division of costs for the acquisition, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the proposed Rockbridge Regional Human Services Center. The Agreement also provides that Lexington will serve as the fiscal agent for the Center. Copies of the Ordinance may be obtained from the City Manager’s Office in City Hall at 300 E. Washington Street.

City of Lexington Public Hearing

The City Council of Lexington will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023 during its regular meeting, held in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, concerning Ordinance 2023-07 which appropriates funds approved in the fiscal year 2024 budget. The ordinance includes rates, fees, and taxes to be established for the fiscal year. The proposed real estate tax rate for FY24 is $0.92 per $100; no changes for personal property tax rates are proposed. Water and sewer rates are proposed to increase by an average of 7.0%. Citizen comments are welcome at the meeting or you may submit public comments in writing to the following email address: jhostetter@ lexingtonva.gov, by US Mail to City Manager’s Office, 300 East Washington Street, Lexington VA, 24450, or by leaving it in the City’s drop box at the rear of the building (facing the parking lot) and addressed to the City Manager’s Office.
