The Rockbridge Area Relief Association participated in the 31st annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 13. With the help of postal workers throughout Rockbridge County, this year’s drive raised over 3,900 pounds of donations for RARA.
Stamp Out Hunger is the largest national food drive in the nation and is held in partnership with members of the National Association of Letter Carriers, the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, and the U.S. Postal Service.
“This year we requested baby items as well as health and hygiene products donated in addition to nonperishable food. The community really came out for us, and we have a lot of new items for our clients,” said RARA programs manager Shadrey Sands. “We greatly appreciate the continued support of our neighbors.”
