Little Marvin and the Martians entertained a good size crowd on Saturday evening at the Locher Pavilion. There was plenty of good food and drink on hand, and lots of old friends getting together. The next music event will be on July 1, with The Pickup Band.
The SPCA will be at the Glasgow Library at noon on June 15. Come by, check out the fur babies.
Juneteenth celebrations are coming up in our county, and in Glasgow at the James Thompson Community Center on June 16 and 17. On Friday, the 16th there will be a history presentation at 7 p.m., followed by the screening of the Academy Awardwinning film, “Green Book.” On Saturday, the 17th beginning at 2 p.m., there will be a cultural program, family games and music. At 7 p.m. you can participate in a history trivia game, a children’s film screening, and concessions will be available.
The Farmers’ Market is gaining new vendors each week. Last Friday there were nine set up with various products. Unfortunately on Saturday only two vendors were on hand. Produce is available on Fridays right now. Later on there should be more on Saturdays also. They are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days.
Vacation Bible School will be held June 19-23 at Glasgow Baptist Church, from 6 to 8 p.m., for pre-K through fifth grade. A link to register and provide info can be found on the church’s Facebook site under the Bible School info.
