Naomi Elizabeth Clark Lilly Nuckols, 88, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023.
As she arrived in Heaven, she was reunited with her son, Eddie Lilly, and husbands Marshall Lilly and Richard Nuckols.
She was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Rockbridge County to the late Clarence McKinley Clark and Alva Floyd Clark.
She was a lifelong member of Mt. View Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Monacan Indian nation.
It is difficult to put into words of how selfless Naomi was. She enjoyed her Tuesday dinners with family, Atlanta Braves baseball, gardening and being a caretaker. If you ever wanted an honest opinion, Naomi would be the person to ask. She was a pillar of strength and integrity in all aspects of her life. Naomi “Champ” Nuckols will live on through family and the memories of her “stick to your ribs” mashed potatoes.
Surviving are her children, Wilford Lilly, Clinton (Gin) Lilly and Teresa (Tim) Overman; stepson, Steven Nuckols; grandchildren, Tasha, Josh, Shannon, Tee, Tyler, Devin and Jacob; many loving great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Connie) Clark, Clarence “Jr.” (Lucy) Clark; and sister, Ann (Jerry) Brock.
A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, June 6, at Green Hill Cemetery with Brother Ervin Buchanan and the Rev. Sheldon Sorrels officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
