FLORENCE JEAN PARKER

Florence Jean Parker, 85, of Lexington died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home.

Born May 14, 1938, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Tucker Parker Sr. and Mabel Potter Parker.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her brothers, Earnest Houston Parker Sr., Tucker Parker Jr. and Willard Parker; as well as a nephew, Earnest H. “Hughie” Parker Jr.

Florence was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Surviving are her nieces of Richmond, Barbara P. Atkinson (Todd), Betty P. Sorrell (Linwood), and Brenda Seay; and her devoted greatnieces of Richmond, Suzanne Rainey and Elizabeth Parker. She had a special relationship with her cousin, Joyce Davis, along with many cousins, friends and great-nieces and nephews. Special thanks to loving caregivers Missy Noel and Kay Dean and her hospice team.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, June 9, at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery by Leon Wilhelm dedicating the grave.
