Editor, The News-Gazette: I write in hearty support of Glasgow resident Jade Harris as a candidate to be the 24th District Delegate to the Virginia House of Delegates.
Many of you may already know Jade Harris and are familiar with her accomplishments. She is a 2016 graduate of Rockbridge County High School, a 2020 graduate of Mary Baldwin University with a degree in political science, and a staunch supporter of democratic principles. She has held a position on Glasgow’s Town Council since March 2021, and has been serving as the town’s vice mayor since April 2022.
Through her campaign, Harris advocates for increased access to mental health resources, protection of reproductive rights, and bringing common sense and composure back to our government by actively opposing ideological warfare designed to sow the seeds of disunity.
As a young but experienced government official and a woman of color, Jade Harris will represent all of us well in the Virginia General Assembly.
