Friday - The Raphine Volunteer Fire Company's annual carnival is entering its third evening tonight - and, yes, it's parade night and barbecue chicken night. Chicken dinners will be served starting at 5 and the parade starts at 6:30. The carnival concludes Saturday evening.
The barbecue chicken this year is being cooked under a brand new pavilion that was just erected last week. The pavilion was constructed by friends of Dale Earhart, a longtime volunteer with the annual carnival who died last July after he was struck by a tree. The pavilion is named in his memory.
