All three Rockbridge area jurisdictions have approved a regional agreement that spells out how capital expenses and operations costs will be divided for a planned new social services building.
The Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors approved the agreement June 12 while Lexington City Council approved it June 15 while Buena Vista City Council approved it June 1.
Capital costs are to be divided among the three localities by population. Division of the operational costs is to be based on a combination of usage and population of the three localities.
The building is to be located in Buena Vista behind the 911 central dispatching center and Food Lion at the intersection of U.S. 60 East and Forge Road.
