Lexington resident Ken Hardy earned three medals at the National Veterans Golden Age Games held May 22-24 in Des Moines, Iowa. Hardy’s best event was the long jump, which he won with a leap of 11 feet, 1 inch, setting a record for his age group. Hardy, 75, earned silver medals in both the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter sprint and placed sixth in the 1500-meter race walk. The NVGAG is an annual, national competition open to U.S. military veterans over the age of 55. Next year, the NVGAG will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
