Rockbridge Recovery is hosting its first ever “Let’s Rock” event, which features a full lineup of venders, information tables, guest speakers, a cruise-in, bands, children’s activities and concessions. The event is being held at Glen Maury Park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. this Saturday, June 24.
Vendors and information booths will open up at 11 a.m., along with children’s activities that include games, a dunking booth, bouncy house and petting area. Concessions will also be available beginning at that time.
Band performances begin at noon, starting with Full Circle Revival, a Christian band from Woodstock. They will be followed by country band The Late Night Stumblers at 2 p.m., rock band Section X at 4 p.m., Varity Band Hateful Bones at 6 p.m., and Tribute Band Credence Clearwater Recital will close out the event at 8 p.m.
A full lineup of guest speakers will also be sharing their stories of recovery, inspiration and hope. The lineup includes Derrick Cash at 11:30 a.m., Dustin Hatchett at 1:30 p.m., Cayte Atkins at 3:30 p.m., Thomas Whitlock at 5:30 p.m. and Rockbridge Recovery’s founder/director Bobby Slagle at 7:30 p.m.
This is an alcohol and substance free family event. Concessions will include popular pulled pork barbecue and slaw made by John Stallard of CHEFS catering, pizza, chips, hot dogs and drinks. All proceeds from the concessions will support Rockbridge Recovery and Main Street Buena Vista.
There is no cost for admission; the entry fee is to one non-perishable food/pet item per person.
