The town of Goshen will be holding its second annual Beach Party this Saturday, June 24, from 3 to 8 p.m.
There will be live music performed by Glen Shelton, Bruce Allen and Jason Burke from 3 to 6 p.m. and Keith Bryant from 6 to 8 p.m.
This year’s event is being held as a fundraiser for residents Blaine Lawhorn and Mike Hicks, who are both undergoing medical treatment for cancer. Volunteers will be asking for donations upon entrance to the parking area and all proceeds will go to Blaine and Mike.
In addition to the live music, there will be a 50/50 drawing, a dunking booth, a bounce house, carnival games, local vendors and food. Again, all donations collected by the town of Goshen for this event will go to benefit these two men who are undergoing medical treatment.
The event will be held at the iron bridge across from the first aid field, and some of the events will be set up on the first aid field. Parking for the event will be at the first aid field.
The road between the BP station and the railroad tracks by the first aid building (alternate Va. 39) will be closed to through traffic from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for this event.
Vendors are welcome to begin setting up anytime after 11 a.m. There is no fee for setting up but any donations are appreciated.
There will also be a separate fundraiser taking place for contributions to the Devin Riley family to assist with funeral expenses. Tickets will be sold for a raffle drawing for items that have been donated for this purpose. The drawing will take place during this event.
