Fred Clark’s attempt at insult with the word “communist” in his response to my recent letter only demonstrates he doesn’t read. Any study of countries called communist demonstrates none followed Marx’s notion of a socialist workers’ paradise of equal division of wealth. All were founded by murder, were and still are, criminal gangs. Putin, Trump’s favorite dictator, murders opponents and critics, bombs schools and maternity hospitals, and sanctions war crimes. All of which should appall any “Christian,” including Trump, who can’t cite a single Bible verse.
If Mr. Clark read the words of Jesus with any understanding, he would be appalled, as the ideas are pretty close to Marx on the issue of equal sharing, the theoretical goal of socialism.
Trump has been divorced three times, committing adultery on all three wives, once with a porn star, while his wife was pregnant. Jesus was categorically opposed to divorce. While Jesus was friends with Mary Magdalene, his response to “when you’re a star they let you grab them by the …” would have been what? Or saying on a TV talk show what he and his daughter had most in common was sex, and that if she weren’t his daughter he’d date her? Or accepting Howard Stern’s description of her as a “piece of …”?
Jesus also preached charity. Trump stole from his own charity to buy a portrait of himself. He is now forbidden to run a charity in New York. He created a fraudulent university. He is now forbidden to run one in New York. Trump called for the execution of teenagers in NewYork who were cleared by DNA evidence. Their real crime? Being Black. Trump and his father refused housing to Blacks and Hispanics in their New York properties, signing an agreement they did so.
My question to Mr. Clark, is what would Jesus say has happened to Christianity when its adherents are devoted to a degenerate? Why have they abandoned the moral principles his life exemplified?
