Blues’ Postseason Honors Announced

Six Parry McCluer High School baseball players received all-district honors earlier this month, while two PM baseball players and five PM softball players were awarded allregion honors last week.

Six Parry McCluer High School baseball players received all-district honors earlier this month, while two PM baseball players and five PM softball players were awarded allregion honors last week.

For the PM baseball team, sophomore pitcher Braedyn Houck and junior outfielder Tanner Coleman were named to the all-district first team. Houck was selected to the allregion first team, while Coleman was named to the all-region second team.

All-district second team selections for the Blues were senior second baseman Maison Hamilton and sophomore pitcher Jase Barger. Blues receiving honorable mention honors were sophomores Brayden Holdren and Peyton Ramsey.

The Fighting Blues, under the direction of head coach Bryan Loy, went 13-9 this year, compiling a record of 8-4 in the Pioneer District to finish second. PM concluded its season with a 13-1 loss to Galax in the Region 1C quarterfinals.

For the PM softball team, three players were named to the all-region first team: junior shortstop Payton Emore as an at-large selection, junior catcher Autumn Mundy and sophomore first baseman Olivia Julian. Two players were selected to the all-region second team, sophomore outfielder Logan Rhea Vest and senior pitcher Claudia Coleman as an at-large selection.

Under head coach Troy Clark, the Blues went 11-8 overall this year, going 6-2 in the Pioneer District to finish second. PM ended its season with a 4-2 loss to George Wythe in the Region 1C quarterfinals.
