Mary Frances Moyers, 84, of Glasgow died June 24

Mary Frances Moyers, 84, of Glasgow, died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at her home.

Born Dec. 18, 1938, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Stroade Bartley and Fronnie Mae Cash Bartley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stone Moyers, and long-time companion, Benjamin Ernest Austin; stepmother, Nellie Bartley; children, Carolyn and Jimmy Moyers; and siblings, Dolan Bartley, Shirley Huffer, Eveline Meeks and Claudia Knight.

Mary was a member of the Lexington Church of God and retired from the Natural Bridge Hotel.

Surviving are her children, Donna Trail (Jerry), Michael Moyers (Teresa), and Ernest Austin; siblings, Ruby Simmons, Margie Howdyshell, Juanita Sprouce and Arline Conley; grandchildren, Daniel Moyers, David Austin, Pamela Buchanan, Simon Austin, McKenzie Moyers, Mercedes Austin, Kimberly McKinney, Noah Austin, Nicholas Austin and Alayna Austin; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 28, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J. Thorne and the Rev. Rob Cash. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Harrison Funeral Home.
