William Marvin “Sugar Bear” Clark, 75, of Lexington died Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home.

William Marvin “Sugar Bear” Clark, 75, of Lexington died Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home.

Born June 14, 1948, in Lexington, he was a son of Isabelle Tyree Clark Robertson and Fred H. Clark.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Clark.

William was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Dominion Virginia Power with 42 years of service.

In addition to his mother, he was survived by his wife, Doris McGowan Clark; children, Tony Clark (Kelly Patterson Mills), Deborah Higgins (Carl) and Cindy Wheeler (Kelly); a brother, Lester Clark; nine grandchildren, Candice Potter (Dustin), Hunter Higgins (Kristen), Jessica Wheeler, Kenton Wheeler (Kayleigh Harlow), Isabella Erber, Victoria Erber, Canaan Clark, Cole Mills and Knox Dancy; a niece, Amy Clark; a nephew, Ryan Clark; and six great-grandchildren. Bill had numerous friends including honorary pallbearers Jim McClung, Stu White, Gary Tomlinson, Chris Fitzgerald, Daryl Martin, Ray Belcher, Al Flint and Mel Medvev.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday, June 24, at Harrison Funeral Home by the Rev. Ralph Coleman.

Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory. N-G
