Robyn Sherman of Rockbridge County High School recently brought home a state recognition for the district.
Among her duties as the school’s coordinator of Career and Technical Education, Sherman also plays a major role in the support of RCHS’s chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
As a testament to her dedication to the program, Sherman received the Kathleen C. Buchanan FCCLA Alumni and Associates in the Classroom award at the FCCLA state conference held in April, director of technology and CTE Paige Owens told the Rockbridge County School Board at its June meeting.
The website of FCCLA explains that candidates for this award are major advocates for student members, supporting their endeavors by acting as a mentor and organizing chapter events.
Owens said, “This is a very well-deserved recognition for [Sherman] and her continued support for Virginia FCCLA and most importantly our local FCCLA chapter, so Ms. Sherman, thank you for all you do.”
