Thanks to Donna Lotts, children’s ministry director, for hosting a School’s Out Bash on June 25, with lunch, ice cream and water activities after worship. Plans are underway for vacation Bible school to be held at Cave Mountain Lake on Saturday, July 29, from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you would like to help, please let Donna know.
The Hootenanny was cancelled Thursday, June 22, due to rainy weather. Tomorrow, Thursday, June 29, Small Group meets for Bible study led by Joe Hawes at 7 p.m. in the High Bridge fellowship room. Guests are welcome.
On Sunday, July 9, our Fourth of July celebration will be held at the church pavilion immediately after worship (in case of rain, the fellowship hall). Unfortunately, Col. John Brody will be unable to attend this year but Donna Armentrout, our pianist, will provide themed music to honor our military. Guest minister that Sunday will be W.D. Hasty, who will administer communion during the service. Bring a side dish — hotdogs and drinks will be furnished after church.
Circle groups will not be meeting in July.
Several High Bridge members celebrated anniversaries this month, including Lee and Audrey Armentrout’s twin daughters, David and Carol Tolley, and Roy and Connie Powell who were celebrating 51 years; Scott and Becky Hannah celebrating 55 years; Jerry and Dwinnie Shafer marking 49 years; Darold and Cheryl Dameron with 49 years; and E.G. and Betsy Shepherd, who celebrated 50 years at the Braford family home with a party hosted by Bill and Lea Braford and family members.
