Rockbridge Animal Alliance and Furever Friends Lodge would like to thank the community for making the first annual Wags & Whiskers Fundraiser at Great Valley Farm Brewery and Winery a success.
Each organization received $2,300 after accounting for expenses. The funds raised will assist at-risk families and their pets through programs such as the pet food pantry, low-cost spay and neuter and veterinary assistance, in addition to the care of stray/feral cats and adoption of local cats and kittens.
“We were humbled by the generosity of community businesses and would like to thank [those that helped],” said a spokesperson. Sponsors were Lexington Animal Hospital, The WellPet Group, C&S Disposal, Cabell Gallery of Virginia Art, Tractor Supply, Anything is Pawsable, Valvoline and CornerStone Bank . “We truly appreciate the support of the thirty-five local businesses and individuals who contributed in-kind donations for the silent and live auctions. We look forward to making this an annual event in Rockbridge County.”
