The 29th annual Maury River Fiddlers Convention was held June 16 and 17 at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista. Winners in the various competitions are as follows: Bluegrass Band – Garden Variety Band of Richmond, first place; Happy Valley Boys of Lexington, second; Cannabis Mountain Boys of Eagle Rock, third.
Old Time Band – Herding Cats of Montvale, first; Fiddlin’ Fools of Austinville, second; Up In The Air of Roanoke, third.
Best All-Around Bluegrass Performer, Lee Dunbar of Eagle Rock.
Best All-Around Old-time Performer – Rebecca Bryant of Madison Heights.
