Congratulations to Glasgow’s own Payton Emore for being named to the 2023 Class 1, 2nd Team All-State Softball. Payton, the daughter of Jimmy and Margaret Emore, is a rising senior at Parry McCluer High School, and is a member of the girls softball team.

This weekend at the Farmers Market look for Maple Swamp Farm and The Bakers Rack. LLC with USDA meats, eggs and baked goods. Also, on Friday only will be Sweet Confections with homemade rolls and other goodies; Wayne Zollman and crew with produce like tomatoes, corn, peppers, etc. You’ll also find vendors with handmade wind chimes, bracelets, key chains, bowl cozies, casserole trivets, ceramics, and more. The Farmers Market is open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Donnie Linkenhoker’s garden in Glasgow was damaged by the recent hail storm, which has prevented him from coming to the market thus far; however, he sends word that his garden in Botetourt County is doing well and he promises to be at the market with produce in the near future.

Glasgow’s next music event will take place on July 22, with Jason Hostetter.
