BOBBY LILLY

Bobby Franklin Lilly, 90, of Buena Vista, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital.

Bob was born Feb. 24, 1933, at Cornwall to the late James B. Lilly and Florence Clark Lilly. He was the last surviving member of his family.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marshall, Hunter, McDonald (Doug), Junior and Andy (Butch); and three sisters, Ruby Cash, Agnes Moore and Rachel Floyd.

Bob is survived by his wife, Chrysteen Carroll Lilly, with whom they just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on July 2. They met on a bus as she was heading to Alton, Illinois, for nursing school and he was going to basic training. Later, they were married and she remained the love of his life.

He is also survived by his children, Marilyn (Larry) Earhart, Linda (Robbie) Burnett, Wanda Lilly (Earl), and Greg (Emily) Lilly; grandchildren, Kim (Brandon) Edwards, Kelly (Shawn) Watkins, Kodi (Jeremy) Burner, Jason (Carolyn) Burnett, Kevin Burnett (Lindsey), special grandson Caleb Tyler, Katy Lilly, and Ally Lilly; great-grandchildren, Luke, Kendal, and Evan Edwards, Eli and Charley Watkins, Nolan and Reed Burner, Robert, Liam, and Eliza Burnett, Mariyah Burnett, Holden Houck and Everleigh Houck.

A funeral was held on Monday, July 10, at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Martin and the Rev. Dean Staton officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
