Phyllis Dorlene Coffey Snider of Buena Vista went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2023. Dorlene was born on Dec. 31, 1940.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Wiseman Coffey and Gilmer Coffey; her sister, Darlis Jean Pruitt; and son-in-law, Troy Beverley.

Surviving Dorlene are her children, Sharon (John) Hazelwood of Richmond, Teri Beverley, and John (Lindsey) Snider III, all of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Cassie Jones (Chris Edens), Bridget (Luke) Franks, Gunner (Britney) Beverley, Kate (Jack) Buchanan, Sawyer Beverley, John Snider IV, and Parker Snider; great-grandchildren, Jacob Franks, Cody Franks, and Allison Edens; brothers, Calvin Coffey, of Buena Vista, Tommy (Ida) Coffey of Rockbridge Baths, and Ray (Donna) Coffey of Franklin, Tenn.

Dorlene was a fiery woman with a big heart. She never turned down a DIY home improvement project and was a caregiver for many, including her mother and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren play sports at Parry McCluer High School. Even in her later years, when she couldn’t attend a game, you’d hear her radio broadcasting the ball games and she was always sure to share the big game details with friends and family. Dorlene was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, July 18, at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Galen Combs officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services. N-G
