Keith Eldon Putbrese, 90, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, July 10, in Lexington. He was born Oct. 17, 1932.
He was a pillar of the Natural Bridge community, and a lifelong champion of artistic and intellectual pursuit. Keith was an avid sommelier and drew tremendous inspiration from the winemaking regions of the world. His encyclopedic knowledge in the world of wines was incomparable, and he would gladly share a glass and discuss the history of its vintage.
As a friend, a counselor and a mentor, he will be missed most for his quick wit and warm nature. Keith was deeply proud of his country and his faith, as well as a vocal advocate of the U.S. Constitution.
Keith graduated from the University of Iowa with a juris doctor and went on to specialize in communications law, becoming the founding member of the law firm PutbreseHunsaker& Trent. He would go on to found and direct the equestrian operations of Fancy Hill Farm, before retiring to his home in Natural Bridge.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie Putbrese, and his son, Kian.
He is survived by two brothers, along with his beloved wife of 70 years, Barbara, his son Kelan, and his grandson Kyle.
A funeral service was conducted Friday, July 14, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jim Young. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
