CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INVITATION TO BID

PROPOSED LEASE OF PUBLIC PROPERTY AT BREWBAKER FIELD TO FRIENDS OF ROCKBRIDGE SWIMMING, INC. FOR USE, OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, AND POSSIBLE EXPANSION OR IMPROVEMENT OF AN INDOOR POOL Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 15.2-2100 et seq., of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, the City Council of the City of Lexington, Virginia, hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. or immediately thereafter, in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices Building, 150 Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450.The purpose of the public hearing is to consider approving an Ordinance granting a lease of up to ten (10) years to the Friends of Rockbridge Swimming, Inc. for certain real property located at Brewbaker Field for the use, operation, maintenance, and possible expansion or improvement of an indoor swimming pool. The subject property is a portion of the property known as Brewbaker Field, which is located at 198 Wallace Street and is further identified as City of Lexington Tax Map Nos. 29 5 C and 29 1 49. The specific portion of Brewbaker Field that is subject to the proposed lease is identified in Exhibit A to the proposed lease. In addition, the City will publicly receive bids for the proposed lease from other interested parties. Other interested parties must submit sealed bids for the proposed lease in writing by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 19, 2023, to Jani Hostetter, City Clerk, 300 E. Washington Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450. Any bids received will be opened in public session and marked for identification by the City Clerk. The Mayor shall cause a brief summary of any such bids to be read aloud in the public session. The cost of this advertisement shall be paid by the City which shall be reimbursed by the entity to which the lease is granted. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Copies of the proposed Ordinance and proposed lease may be examined at the office of the City Clerk, located at 300 E. Washington Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450, or at the City’s website, www.lexingtonva.gov. Citizens are invited to attend the public hearing and comment on the proposed Ordinance and proposed lease. Individuals requiring special assistance to attend and participate in the public hearing, or requiring additional information about the proposed Ordinance or proposed lease, should contact the City Manager’s Office, at 300 E. BUENA VISTA CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING July 20th 2023 Pursuant to Code of Virginia Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-1800, and the City of Buena Vista Land Development Regulations, notice is given that the City Council of the City of Buena Vista will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the following matters. 1) Zoning Map Amendment for Rehl property, Tax Map 19-16-52-1, to rezone from General Manufacturing to R4 Medium Density Residential 2) Zoning Map Amendment for Rehl property, Tax Maps 8-1—-1 & 2, to rezone from R6 Residential Planned Unit Development (PUD) and General Manufacturing to Institutional 3) Conditional Use Permit for converting existing building to multifamily dwelling at 2424 Magnolia Avenue. 4) Abandonment of portion of alley adjacent to 1105 E 24th Street, between Holly Ave and Spruce Ave The Public Hearing will be held in Council Chambers, City Hall, 2039 Sycamore Ave, Buena Vista VA 24416. AN APPLICATION BY PIERSON HOTCHKISS PROPOSING A PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION PLAT (BOUNDARY LINE ADJUSTMENT & BOUNDARY LINE VACATION) FOR PARCELS LOCATED AT 111 REBEL RIDGE ROAD (TAX PARCELS # 21-220 & # 21-6-A) AND 597 ROSS ROAD (TAX PARCEL # 22-1-3) IN LEXINGTON, VIRGINIA A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at a meeting to begin at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to an application by Pierson Hotchkiss requesting the application of a preliminary subdivision plat (boundary line adjustment & vacation) to vacate the boundary line between Tax Parcels # 21-2-20 and # 21-6-A, and to add a 0.63 acre portion of Tax Parcel # 221-3 to Tax Parcel # 21-2-20.
