Dr. Theodore “Ted” Davis will be presenting “Casavant Frères Opus 394” in concert at Grace Episcopal Church in Lexington on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m.
Davis is an active recitalist, chamber music performer and conductor currently serving at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore. Davis has performed across the Eastern United States, England and Japan, achieving widespread recognition in organ-playing competitions.
The program will include works by Louis Vierne, Samuel Coleridge Taylor, Florence Beatrice Price, Ad Wammes, Théodore Dubois and others. Free will donations will be accepted Choral Evensong will be presented Sunday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m., featuring the choir and friends of the church and directed by Martha Burford. Davis will be organist for the program, which will include works by C.H.H. Parry, Sarah MacDonald, S.S. Wesley, Theodore Davis, Thomas Tallis, William Bradley Roberts and others. Evensong is a service of prayers, scripture readings, including Canticles and Psalms, lessons and music. Free will offerings will be accepted to support the mission of the church.
