Elmer Roberts Jr., 71, of Davie, Fla., formerly of Buena Vista, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023.  He was born July 2, 1952, the son of Elmer Roberts Sr. and Edna Lee Hamilton Roberts.

Elmer owned and operated his own trucking company and was a racecar driver at one time.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, Ashby Roberts; sister, Deborah Hartless; maternal grandparents, Dora and Mascott Hamilton and fraternal grandparents, Cora and George Roberts.

Elmer is survived by his loving companion of 54 years, Diane; a son; a grandson; brothers, Randy, Johnny, Brooke and Daniel; sisters, Bonnie Clark, Anna Shepherd, Nettie Garrett and Angela Crowell; five loving aunts, Elizabeth Shafer, Barbara R. Camden, Jean R. Camden, Rosa Lee R. Chittum and Mary R. Watts; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. W. David Bain.
