Beau Leech and Sarah Edwards were married at Oxford Church on Saturday afternoon, July 22. After the ceremony they traveled to their reception in a big shiny John Deere tractor. Congratulations and best wishes to Beau and Sarah.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mary Frances Hall Rhodenizer who passed away on Tuesday night, July 18. She was born and raised in this community. She became a member of Oxford Church at a young age and served the church with faithfulness and dedication. She served as elder and deacon and was a past president of the Women of the Church. She was cochairman of the committee that worked to publish a cookbook, “Oxford’s Divine Offerings” in 2008. She keyed in the 250 recipes that are in the book and not a mistake could be found in that book. She always made sure to greet visitors at church on Sunday mornings with a cheerful smile and warm welcome. So much could be written about this loving, caring woman. She was laid to rest in Oxford Cemetery on Friday afternoon, July 21. The Rev. Marina Gopadge conducted a beautiful and fitting service for her.
