Ernest Arman “Butch” Thomas, 79, of Buena Vista passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, in Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest America Thomas and Lucy Dunn Thomas, and a brother, William Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Beverly Thomas; two sons, Josh Thomas (Brooke), Stacey Tinson (Stacy) and a daughter, Pamela Harris (Garrett); grandchildren, Sharaylynn, Reagan, Lacey and Brandon; special friends, Andrew Patterson, Calvin Beverley and A.J. Panebianco; as well as his Grand Dog, Minnie and his kitty, Baby.
Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having retired after serving 29 years, 11 months and 7 days. He then joined the Department of Corrections and retired as Sergeant after 22 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, July 27, in the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Chapel by Pastor Steven Kidd. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to them in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
