MARK SMITH

Mark Lynwood Smith, age 53, of Lexington passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Augusta Health Medical Center.

He was born July 14, 1970, in Covington to the late Roy W. Smith and Brenda Craft Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Smith; two sons, Mark-Anthony Smith and Johnathon Smith; daughter, Megan Smith; and two grandchildren, Maddox Clifton and River Smith.

He was a strong, resilient, hard worker who was the backbone to his family. Mark started his own business, All About Landscaping, 30 years ago. He conquered many hardships throughout the way, and the business flourished as he continuously respected and cared for each and every customer he had. Mark loved to be outside; whether it was hunting, hiking, kayaking, working in his yard, or just simply having a beer on his back porch with the radio station set on classic rock, and his Labrador Retriever dog, Milo, by his side. He loved traveling with his family, whether it was to the calming beaches of OBX for the summer or to the lively city of New York for the holiday season. No matter when or where, he was always up for the adventure.

Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, nephew, and friend to all those around him. He loved being around people, whether he knew them or not. Mark had no acquaintances, only conversations, thousands of them. And once a conversation had been engaged, a friendship was always born.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday July 29, at 2 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home.
