6 p.m. – Mikhala Stafford, director of community outreach for Project Horizon to talk about child trafficking in the local area, Rockbridge Regional Library.

Saturday, Aug. 12

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Summer bazaar at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, breakfast and lunch will be served and there will be items for sale made by the Mount Olivet Quilters, a bake featuring canned jams and jelly, space for yard sales is $5.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Back to school community picnic, sponsored by the Lexington Police Department in partnership with the Lexington Police Foundation, free backpacks with school supplies while they last, free food and snow cones, bounce house for the kids and music provided by Rick n’ Shel, Richardson Park.

1-7 p.m. – Goshen Beach Party, a fundraiser for Blaine Lawhorn and Mike Hicks, with musical performances by Glen Shelton (1-3), Keith Bryant (3-5), BruceAllen & Jacob Burke (5-7) with all bands playing together at 5, Steel Bridge across from the First Aid field in Goshen.

6 to 9 p.m. – Rockin’ the Gorge, music by Southpaw , free admission, Locher Pavilion, Glasgow.

2 p.m. ‒ Community United: Spotlight on Glasgow,” a fundraiser for The Rockbridge NAACP with music, food and speakers, offered free of charge, James E. Thompson Sr. Community Center.
