Molly Payne Pugh is joining in the law practice of William “Bill” McClung.
Both McClung and Pugh are graduates of Washington and Lee University School of Law. McClung’s client files and ongoing legal matters will be transitioned to the new practice, McClung and Pugh, PLC, over the summer.
McClung was born in Lexington and has practiced law in the community since 1969. His practice predominately centers around residential and commercial real estate, as well as estate planning, corporate work, property law, and the purchase and sale of all types of assets.
Pugh grew up in the Tidewater region of Virginia and married into a family farm in 2000. Prior to law school, she represented Virginia’s grain farmers in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and Virginia’s General Assembly for nearly a decade while she and her husband owned and operated a 2,000-acre grain farm in Southeast Virginia. Pugh lives in Lexington with her husband, Lyle, and 13-yearold son, Hudson.
McClung and Pugh Law will carry on McClung’s real estate work, and will also incorporate Pugh’s practice of estate and trust planning, land conservation easements, and corporate work in the downtown Lexington office. Pugh focuses on taxation law to help families and small businesses to plan for their estates, tax and asset management, as well as their family and business succession plans.
Prior to starting McClung and Pugh Law, Pugh practiced in corporate boutique and general practice law firms with offices in Roanoke and Blacksburg.
