Thanks to Linda Trumbo from Covington for bringing the morning message this past Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church.
Next Sunday, the Rev. W.D. Hasty will deliver the morning message. We will be receiving the food pantry/noisy can offering and will have children’s church under the leadership of Donna Lotts. The youth will have a “backto- school” pool party after worship.
Weekday Religious Education will be meeting on Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. at Beth Horon United Methodist Church. All area churches are encouraged to send a representative and pastors are also encouraged to attend. Alecia Armentrout, president, will lead the meeting. Classes begin Aug. 22.
Family and friends gathered at the home of Cora Lewis to celebrate her 100th birthday on Saturday, Aug. 5. Cora is our oldest member at High Bridge.
Ruth Ann Parsons recently returned from France for a Parsons’ family gathering. While in France, everyone attended the wedding of Molly Parsons and Alexandre de Villiers de La Noue in Antibes, France in the French Riviera. Molly is the granddaughter of the late George and Miriam Parsons, who made their retirement home on Parsons Lane at Natural Bridge in the home that once belonged to Van and Lottie Parsons Orndorf.
John and Mary Atthowe recently returned from vacation in Denmark and Norway.
The Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department is having a pork dinner and homemade ice cream fundraiser Sunday afternoon. Dinners are $10 and ice cream is $2 extra.
Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church is having a bazaar Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning with breakfast, then a yard sale, a bake sale and craft sale.
Upcoming events in August will include the Hootenanny on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. and “small church gathering” on Aug. 31.
Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will be open Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 to 11 a.m.
