There were many joys to share this week at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church! We are grateful to God for the safe arrival of Nathan and Lora Welsh, along with Judson and Thea. Congratulations to Dylan Welsh who graduates from SWAT training this week. Congratulations to Fred and Nettie Conner who celebrated 53 years of marriage this week! Also, we give thanks for a wonderful week at Camp Joy for Alanna. She’s excited to go back next year!

The bookmobile returns to New Monmouth this week. Come on out on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to check out books and hang at the playground. All from the community are welcome.

Nathan and Lora Welsh will be doing a special presentation this Sunday at 4 p.m. about their ministry in Albania. Come on out to hear what the Lord is doing through them among the Roma people, and stay around for fellowship and dinner. This is open to the whole community. Church family, please bring a dessert or fruit to share.

On Aug. 20, there will be a brief congregational meeting after church to consider a change in the pastor’s terms of call.

On Aug. 27, the Circle of Fruit youth group will go to Goshen after church. Friends are welcome. Let Janeen know if you are able to attend.

On Aug. 29, the Women’s Circle will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Deb Jarrett.

We are now collecting school supplies for Natural Bridge Elementary. Our goal is to collect 200 24-count boxes of crayons, 200 pink pearl erasers (the kind you hold in your hand), 200 single-subject notebooks, 400 white board markers, and 1,000 pencils.

Sunday we collected:22 notebooks, 216 pencils, 12 pink pearl erasers, 34 boxes of crayons, and eight dry erase markers. Thanks to all who contributed. You can give money as well to fill in what is needed. See Rachel or Deb to do this.
