LPD Thanks Supporters Of Summer Camp Program

On Aug. 10, the Lexington Police Department concluded its two-week summer camp program.

“The camp has been an overwhelming success, leaving a lasting impact on the campers and fostering a sense of growth and camaraderie amongst the schoolaged participants, and memorable interactions with Lexington police employees, to cherish for years to come,” said Chief Angela Greene.

This was the second year the Lexington Police Department hosted a summer camp.

The Lexington Police Department extends gratitude to the parents and guardians who entrusted their children to the department this summer.

“It is the support and trust of parents and guardians that enabled us to create an environment where the children could thrive, learn, and make lasting friendships,” Greene said. “We understand the importance of your child’s well-being and worked diligently to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and secure environment for all campers.”

Fur thermore, the Lexington Police Department would like to express its sincerest appreciation to area businesses, local universities, and community organizations, as well as the Virginia Attorney General’s Office and the Lexington Police Foundation, that generously supported the summer program.

“Their contributions and sponsorship made it possible for us to enhance the camp experience and offer additional opportunities this year to our campers,” said Greene. “We firmly believe in fostering strong ties within our community, and their unwavering support has been instrumental in making this summer camp an extraordinary success.

“As we conclude this summer’s adventure, we eagerly look forward to welcoming campers back next year for an even more exciting and rewarding experience, with the dedicated and committed women and men of the Lexington Police Department.”
