MARY MASON

With great sadness, the family of Mary Marlene Mason announce her passing on Jan. 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Mary was born and raised in Wilmington, Del., and moved to Virginia in the late 1970s, residing in Buena Vista for more than 30 years with her beloved husband, Donal E. Mason (deceased).

She is survived by her brother and sisters, Ray Mays, Rena Bailey, Paulette Mercado and Linda Smith; her daughters, Charity Clark and Denise Mason; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary was a kind and giving person who gave generously of herself and was always doing for others - dogs, cats, kiddies or critters - it didn’t matter to her, she loved and cared for them all.

Contributions in memory of Mary can be made to your local ASPCA animal shelter.

A memorial service honoring Mary’s life will be scheduled at a later date and location to be announced by the family. N-G
