A fire heavily damaged a house in Buena Vista last Wednesday afternoon.
According to Buena Vista Fire Chief John Rowsey, units were dispatched to a structure fire on 38th Street at 2:44 p.m., and when the first engine from the BVFD arrived, there was heavy smoke showing.
Also responding to the fire were firefighters from Lexington, Glasgow and South River.
No one was at home at the time of the fire, but a dog was found dead.
Rowsey said the Red Cross was notified to assist the family.
