First Baptist Church in Lexington will celebrate its 156th and the fifth anniversary of Pastor McKinley Williams with three special services this month.
On Sunday, Sept. 10, at 3 p.m., the guests will be Pastor Ronald Baker and the choirs and congregation of the Main Street Baptist Church in Clifton Forge. Lunch will be served from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m., the guests will be Pastor Dwight O. Steele and the choirs and congregation of the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Roanoke. Lunch will again be served from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 24, during the 11 a.m. morning service, the church will dedicate three memorial windows in memory of Doris Porterfield, Mary Lewis and Elvia Brooks. Dr. Beverly Tucker has presented the church with portraits for the anniversary celebration. An anniversary meal from 1 to 3 p.m. will be catered by John Stallard and Chef’s Catering.
