Friends and neighbors, children of all ages, it’s that time once again – time for the Rockbridge Regional Fair and Expo.
For the third year, the fair will be taking place in Glasgow, at the Locher Pavilion, and it starts this Thursday, Sept. 7, and runs through Saturday.
Area residents are invited to come out for rides, food, music, 4-H and FFA livestock events, and a celebration of all things Rockbridge with the theme of “Blue Jeans and Mountain Dreams.”
The midway, rides, food trucks and vendors are open from 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 2 to 11 p.m. on Saturday.
The heart of the fair is the midway with rides, games and carnival concessions – and will be provided by Valley Amusements. Unlimited ride wristbands are only $20.
On the midway, fair-goers will also find food trucks, vendors, equipment displays, and the entertainment stage.
On that entertainment stage, The Spencer Hatcher Band will be leading off the musical acts at 7 p.m. Thursday. On Friday the Pickup Band will be on stage at 5 p.m. and Glen Shelton at 8 p.m. Ending the fair entertainment on Saturday will be Luke Whittaker at 4:30 p.m. and Mojo Parker Express at 8 p.m.
The fair’s beer garden will also be at the entertainment area. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket along if they wish to sit during the performances.
Expo and Quilt Show
The fair showcases the talented folks of Rockbridge County in the expo with its many entries. Entries for the expo will be accepted on Wednesday until noon at the Glasgow Baptist Church. Non-perishable or shelf-stable entries may be left at the Extension Office in Lexington. They will be transported to Glasgow, arriving in time for judging.
