Rapps Church will celebrate 190 years and Grandparents Day during its annual homecoming this Sunday, Sept. 10.
The day’s activities will start will an adult Sunday school class at 10 a.m., as well as a class or two for children at that time.
The worship service will begin at 11 a.m., led by Brian Sink of Valley View Baptist Church in Buchanan. The offering will go toward the restoration of Hamilton’s School.
The homecoming/Sunday school picnic will take place around 12:45 p.m. The church will provide fried chicken, plates, cups, utensils and some drinks. Those attending are encouraged to bring their favorite covered dishes, desserts and beverages to share outside, weather permitting.
This year in May marked the 200th anniversary of the Hamilton School House and Chapel, with sits 3 miles down the road. There will be a brief presentation on the history of the school at about 2 p.m. inside the church. There will also be a small display of pictures and information about the school.
