Our condolences are extended to the Bradley family remembering Roger Bradley. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wishing all the Grandmas and Grandpas, MawMaws and PawPaws, Grannys, Nannys, Grandads and Gramps of our community a very happy Grandparents Day!

Sending birthday wishes to St. John’s Episcopal Church organist Bert Buford and to Kortnie Reuther, my husband’s aunt Margaret Blair, Darcy Wills, Joanna Malotte and Wesley Butler as well as to Faith Baptist members Sam Braford and Brittany Hostetter.

Faith Baptist Church will be having a men’s prayer breakfast on Sept. 13 at 8 a.m. and a clothes closet event coming up on Sept. 16. There will be a church family meal on Sept. 17 and revival with Randy Perry Sept. 17-20.

Many thanks to the Rev. Anne Grizzle for leading Holy Eucharist this past Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church’s Boys’ Home Weekend service by the river. Thanks also to everyone who provided food, supplies and help at the dinner that followed.

Weather permiting, volunteers will be out on James River Road on Monday, Sept. 11, picking up trash during the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The focus will be on the section between Arnolds Valley Road and Crestfield Lane as well as the section between Wilderness Lane and Big Hellgate Lane.
